                 "Fire and Ice "is a very short but remarcabal poem of Robert Frost in which the poet's philosophical temprament is to be found the present short poem deals with the theme of the dicontruction of universe while dealing with this theme the poet comes before us as a profound philosopher .

              The very opening line of the poem prepares a meeting point for the Indian mythology and Christian mythology the west people are opinian that this world would distroyed because of water and In the Indian mythology there is an account of how king Manu was saved by the flud with the helpof Lord Vishnu who was in a guise of fish .It discribe how world was destroyedbecause of Fire 

             The 'Fire' as asymbolto signify human desire the poets wants to convey that desire are just like flanes  of fire and there is no end to human desire. 

             The present poem has a philosophical note in it as it comments on human nature the first aspect of human nature is burning desire and the second aspect is cold hatred both are having the capacity to destroyed this world .
